Its simple 1.5-layer weave structure maximizes open area — delivering 550–850 CFM air permeability, the highest of any forming fabric type — for aggressive water removal at speeds of 300–800 m/min.
Ideal for tissue and specialty paper grades where drainage rate is the primary concern, this lightweight fabric (≥45 kN/m MD tensile strength) is easy to handle during fabric changes and provides reliable performance at an attractive price point.
While not offering the formation finesse of multi-layer designs, Single Layer fabric remains a practical choice for mills with older machines, budget constraints, or applications where sheer drainage capacity is the dominant requirement.
