Modern triple-layer and SSB forming fabrics generally CANNOT be rotated or flipped.

These fabrics have a dedicated top layer (fine, for paper side) and bottom layer (coarse, for wear side). Flipping would put the coarse wear side against the paper — ruining sheet quality.

Instead, fix the root cause of uneven wear:

• Check roll alignment
• Verify tension uniformity
• Inspect dewatering element condition

Exception: Some dryer fabrics can be reversed mid-life to balance seam wear and extend total service life. Always consult PAPTEX engineers before attempting this.
